Within the Plan for the modernization and competitiveness of the tourist industry that is financed with fundsNext GenerationEUthe state secretariat for tourism has launched a programme Experiences Tourism Spain. An initiative that has a budget of eur 100 million until 2023 and who is seeking support to networks of public and private actors who, distributed throughout the national territory, are working on the same experiences. All with a view to improving the availability of experiential that spain offers its visitors and attracting quality tourism.

This new programme is based on the basis of the strategy of Creation, innovation and strengthening Tourism Experiences, to enhance and improve the experiences and attractions in Spain to value the material and immaterial heritage related to the authenticity of the territories and their populations for their promotion.

Other objectives set out with this new programme are:

• Develop new tourism products and enhance the capacities of the destinations to achieve a diverse supply and demand desestacionalizada.
• Attract tourists to new destinations or of the interior, lowering the pressure on destinations pioneers, especially through the protection of the natural environment and of the historical and cultural heritage. This will serve as a fundamental objective is the demographic challenge.
• To improve the sustainability of tourism experiences, both the environment, as the economic and social council, when implementing good practices and optimal design with ecological transition, demographic challenge and circular economy.
• Furthering a transition applied both digital resources, products and services to transform existing tourism experiences or permit the emergence of new tourism experiences and improve the efficiency, accessibility and agility.
• To achieve, through the search for new mechanisms and processes, improving governance in the tourism sector enabling formulas and areas for common work to a collaborative innovation at the country level.
• Improve the resilience, increasing the preparation of business, destinations and citizens with respect to crises or challenges facing the sector.
