The Berlin Declaration, within the revived high-level ministerial “Friends of Industry” meeting, focuses on industrial sovereignty, technological leadership, decarbonisation, critical raw materials and the defence industry. The Minister for Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, is convinced that ‘Europe needs a united industry to face the scale of the opportunities. Together we must provide a reliable framework and impetus for growth, innovation and competitiveness’. The countries that signed this Declaration, along with Spain, were Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia

The Ministry of Industry and Tourism has doubled the budget to offset CO2 emissions, reaching €600 million in the 2025 call for proposals. During the visit, the minister highlighted the company's commitment to sustainability, decarbonisation and the circular economy, fundamental pillars of the industrial transformation being fostered by the government. La Farga is now an internationally renowned industrial group that produces 257,591 tonnes of copper annually, 58% of which comes from recycled material.

The Minister of Industry and Tourism made this announcement during a visit to the facilities of the CROPU Group in Burgos, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, where three of its companies in the automotive components sector have received €7.8 million from PERTE VEC to develop five R&D projects with a view to consolidating their market leadership. The Ministry of Industry and Tourism is committed to these companies that are striving towards sustainable mobility, fostering the attraction of new investment and creating skilled jobs with European funds. Castile and León has benefited from almost €900 million in investment through PERTE, aid for CO2 emissions compensation, aid for gas-intensive and electricity-intensive companies, and aid for tourism in the region.
