The library's collections of the library is specialized in the main areas of management of the department: industry and tourism, as well as in complementary areas as public administration, commerce, law, economics, business, energy, environment and technology. It is composed of books, magazines, and reports available in hard copy and electronic media.

The stocks has more than 59,000 monographs, reports and statistics related to the activity of the ministry, together with more than a thousand magazine headline. Of these, more than eighty per cent are accessible online. The acquisition of funds is done mainly by means of purchase, but also incorporates publications through institutional exchanges and donations.

The library has a collection in free access of more than 800 titles, including books and journals in the areas under the ministry. This collection includes, in addition, reference works as a specialist dictionaries, encyclopedias and directories. The collection of specialized magazines is composed of approximately 30 titles, which include both own publications of the Ministry and other received through subscription.

The historical background, of great value to research on the evolution of industrial activity in Spain, is composed of the collections of the high council of industry, with works of the 19th and 20th centuries, many of them unique, as well as by funds provided by the library of the former General directorate of Decorative Arts and Crafts, specializing in craft and decorative arts.
