    Cumulative expenditures of international tourists until October reaches more than €110 billion

    More 82.8 million international travellers have visited Spain in the first ten months of 2024, 10.8% more than the same period last year.Tourist expenditures in October was €11.898 billion, 15.5% more than the same month in 2023, and also arrivals also grew: 9.5%, to more than 8.9 million.In October, every visitor spent an average of €1,327, 5.5% more than in 2023, and spending per day and traveller also rose 2.9% to €191.The marked increase – 19.5% in the arrival of tourists and 26.2% in expenditure – in all communities that are not considered as the six major recipients, demonstrating the effectiveness of tourism deconcentration policies implemented by the ministry.

    €465 million have been earmarked, so that all citizens who need to buy a vehicle, having lost their own one, can receive direct payments of up to €10,000 that they will not have to pay back.The purchase and, therefore, the submission of applications for aid, will be made at the point of sale adhered to the Plan.Aid will come in the form of a non-refundable grant. In the case of natural persons, if they are accredited by the DGT as owning more than one insured damaged vehicle, they will qualify for a maximum of two grants. In the case of legal persons, up to a maximum of 5.There will be a telephone and an email address set up to obtain information relating to the RESTARTS AUTO +programme

    Hereu announces the provisional approval of 13 new decarbonisation PERTE projects worth €86 million

    Industrias Celulosa Aragonesa, Mercedes Benz, Industrias Lácteas Asturianas, Borges and Cementos Molins are among the beneficiary companies. With these new resolutions, the first call for Line 1 of the Decarbonization PERTE initiative has already granted nearly 400 million euros in subsidies and almost €1 million in loans.     The number of affiliates grows by 3.7% in the first full month of Autumn and tourism employment reaches a total of 2.75 million Affiliates in the tourism sector continue to grow above the economy as a whole (one and a half percentage points more) The number of employees in the tourism sector increased in October by 4.3% and the number of self-employed workers increased by 1%. In absolute numbers, the largest increase in October occurred in Andalusia, while in relative terms the largest increases occurred in the Canary Islands (4.8%) and Andalusia (4.6%).

    International tourists spend over €99 billion up to September, 16.9% more than in the first nine months of 2023

    More than 73.9 million international travellers have visited Spain during the first nine months of the year 2024, 10.9% more than the same period last year. Tourists spent €12.62 billion in September, 12.7% up on the same month of 2023, and arrivals also rose by 9.1% to over 9.6 million In September, each visitor spent an average of €1,315, 3.3% more than in 2023; spending per day also rose by 3.8% to €195.

    Hereu announces nine new projects of line B of the PERTE VEC II for€21.84 M

    These are the applications from Tekinatest Solutions (€1.79 M), NTDD New Digital Diesel Technology (€2.28 M), Lizarte SA (157,560 euros), Pomceg Electronics (287,557 euros), Next Mobility Solutions (€1,44 M), Rieju SA (€12,74 M), Instalaciones y Montajes del Ebro Alegre Melero (778,479 euros), Mol Matric SCCL (491,105 euros), and Masats SA (€1.86 M). To add to that, the final resolutions have been updated. Sidenor's allegations have been accepted, to which 3.87 million euros are proposed. Borgwarner’s allegations were also accepted, awarding them 22.15 million euros. Overall, the industrial PERTES have benefited 46 projects within industries connected to the chemical sector, making up of a total of nearly 160 million euros.

    This marks the second edition of the Last Mile aid programme, aimed at implementing unique and transformative technological projects within tourism companies. The final resolution grants aid to 300 projects presented by nearly 400 beneficiaries. When speaking about the Modernization and Competitiveness Plan for the Tourism Sector, Sánchez Grau stressed that "the initiatives have been planned, and an unprecedented budget for tourism has been allocated in record amount of time." The Spanish Tourism Council (CONESTUR) unanimously approved a Declaration of Support for Tourism, which the secretary has given as an example of a “shared agenda.”. The final document of the Sustainable Tourism Strategy Spain 2030 is underway, aiming to place Spain as the global leader in sustainable tourism by placing people at the very centre of the tourism ecosystem.

    Hereu announces the launch of the second edition of the Chip PERTE with a budget of €200M

    This new edition will have two sections, one to promote projects for the microelectronics value change and a second section aimed at Important Projects of Common European Interest. In the first edition of the Chip PERTE 65.4 million euros were awarded to the companies KDPOF and Semidynamics.     There were 10.6 million international air passengers in September, 10.1% more than the same month in 2023

    From January to September, Spain welcomed 81.7 passengers, 11.7% up on 2023. The highest increase was recorded in the Region of Valencia with a rise of 15.9%; the lowest, the Canary Islands with 8.6% and Balearic Islands with 5%. As already seen in July and August, these data reveal a sustained trend towards greater diversification of destinations among international travellers. The trend towards market diversification is consolidated with good performance by Ibero-American countries (an increase of 15.6%), Canada (18.3%), China (71.8%) and Persian Gulf countries (34.9%).

    Employment linked to the tourism sector continues to attract new registered workers and grows by 2.6% in September

    In the last month of the summer, the number of registered workers in the tourism sector rose by 73,107 compared to the previous year. Employment in tourism stands at around 2.9 million registered workers, 13.5% of the economy as a whole. In September, the number of employees in the tourism sector increased by 3.1% compared to the same month in 2023. In both absolute and relative terms (4.5%), the Canary Islands is the region that saw most growth in September.

    Tourism will subsidise 41 projects (7 individual and 34 cooperative) that benefit 230 entities. This edition of the 2023 Experiences programme was assigned €20 million in aid to strengthen the value of the country’s material and immaterial heritage and to attract quality tourism. The various editions of the Spain Tourism Experiences initiative have a total budget of €100 million.

    SEG Automotive has received more than €10.5 million from the Moves Singulares II programme for three sustainable mobility projects.     This aid helps offset costs related to supporting renewable energy and efficient energy production, as well as covering additional expenses in island and other non-mainland territories.     Hereu announces the granting of €133 M to Stellantis Figueruelas within the third call of the PERTE VEC

    With the aid that was announced today, the Stellantis Group has received nearly 300 million euros, more than 272 million euros in subsidies and 26 million euros in loans. The resolution, which will be published in the next few days, includes other aid; 2 million euros to Stellantis Vigo; 3 million euros for Mahle Behr Spain of Tarragona; and 2.5 million euros for Ficosa of Barcelona. The Ministry of Industry and Tourism has increased the subsidy for the PowerCo gigafactory in Sagunto, which is aiming to improve its project, and which now rises from 98 million euros to 152 million.

    Hereu stresses the impetus of the Ministry for Innovation and Entrepreneurship as driving forces behind industrial transformation

    The Minister of Industry and Tourism valued the importance of PERTEs as an instrument to support new products and public corporations such as ENISA, which is behind various lines of credit for SMEs and certifies new startups. The minister recalled that this week the EOI has opened the application period for the first national edition of aid for the ‘Activa Startup’ programme assigned with a budget of around €7 million for grants of up to €9,500.     Spain received 11.1 million international air travellers in August, 9.6% more than the same month in 2023

    Between January and August, Spain received 71.2 million international air travellers, 11.9% up on 2023. The highest increase was recorded in the Region of Valencia with a 13.1% rise; the lowest in the Canary Islands with 9.8% and Balearic Islands with 6%. These figures highlight the sustained trend towards a greater diversification of destinations. The notable month-on-month growth of Poland is worthy of special mention, with 39.6%, United States with a 16.2% increase and ‘other countries’ with a rise of 12.1%. In terms of market diversification, Ibero-American countries, Canada, China and Persian Gulf countries stand out.

    Employment in tourism stabilises at 2.9 million registered workers, 13.8% of all employees in the economy. Social Security affiliation has grown in this month in all the autonomous communities, and with remarkable intensity in the communities of Cantabria (7.6%) and Extremadura (6%).

    Hereu praises the cultural, wine and gastronomic value of Castile-La Mancha as a driving force for inland tourism

    The Government approves a new Historic Vehicles Regulation

    Vehicles manufactured or registered for the first time at least 30 years ago will be considered historic. The new regulation, which will enter into force on 1 October, urges councils to establish formulas in their municipal bylaws to allow this type of vehicles to circulate.
